If you don’t have enough free space in your hard drive but maybe in your second drive there is more space and you want to increase your free space in your main hard drive you can to this only with ubuntu live cd or usb.
This is the same disk you install you ubuntu , You can download from this link: https://ubuntu.com/download/desktop .
After you born the live cd or usb and boot the live cd, You gonna see in your GRUB menu , the first option “Try ubuntu without installing”.
After you click it , You will enter to the ubuntu desktop.
Click on the windows key and enter in the search bar “gparted”.
Partitions can’t be modified while they’re in use – partitions in use have a key icon next to them. If the partition in “mount” status you have to press right click on the hard drive you want to resize and then click “unmount”.
To resize a partition, right-click it and select Resize/Move.
The easiest way to resize a partition is by clicking and dragging the handles at either side of the bar, although you can also enter exact numbers. You can shrink any partition if it has free space.
Each change you make it queued, and appears in a list at the bottom of the GParted window.
right-click the unallocated space and select New. GParted will walk you through creating the partition
To specify a new partition size, click and drag the sliders or enter an exact number into the boxes.
Click the green check mark icon on GParted’s toolbar to apply the changes when you’re finished.
*Make sure to backup all your data before you enter the apply button it is very important!
After the process finish , Restart your pc and remove your live usb or disk.
